Maharaja Agrasen College Organized Annual Day Function

New Delhi: Maharaja Agrasen College, University of Delhi celebrated its Annual day on May 5, 2022. On this, very special day chief guest Honorable Sh. Vijendra Jain (Former Chief Justice, Punjab & Haryana High Court) and guest of honor Mr. Prateek Trivedi graced the occasion. More than 170 students were awarded for their extraordinary performances in academics, sports, and cultural activities. Best Student award was given to Aditi Srivastava of BA (H) English, Sanskriti Award to Akshit Arora of Business Economics. Award of excellence and Sarvashresth Samayojak Award were given to Abbey Thom Sunil.

The chief guest of the ceremony honorable Justice, Sh. Vijendra Jain (Former Chief Justice, Punjab & Haryana High Court) addressed the other dignitaries present along with the students and highlighted the importance of the annual day. In his speech, quoting this college, he addressed the importance of quality education and the role of a good institution. He emphasized the role of academic institutions as catalytic agents for the skills of the life.

On this occasion Sh. Atul Kumar Jain, Chairman, Governing Body of the College wished the awardees and motivated the students while addressing the importance of knowing the constitution. He also mentioned the present Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and the education minister’s role in shaping the education system and improving the infrastructural requisites of the academic institutions.

The principal of the college Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari presented the annual report of the college. He mentioned the achievements of the students during the last academic year. He added Maharaja Agrasen College was established in 1994 with 310 students and 2 courses and has now more than 2700 students with 10 courses. The college stood at 52nd rank under NIRF ranking in 2021. He also shared about the collaboration of students and the college with the village Nistholi and Baroji. The college also contributes toward educating the underprivileged children of the society under the program of Akshar.

The occasion was graced by the Guest of Honour, Sh. Prateek Trivedi (senior Journalist & Anchor), he talked about his learnings during the past 25 years that he gathered while working in Print & T.V media. Not only did he elate the environment but also delivered a valuable piece of advice to the students to read at least the preamble of our constitution if not the constitution. He reminded the students about the importance of hard work. The annual college magazine ‘AGRANIKA-2022’ was also released on this occasion. On this occasion, Mr. Saurabh Mishra, treasurer, other members of the governing body, Teachers, and the Non-teaching staff were present along with the students of the college. Dr Indrani compared the programme and Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Deepa Sharma.
